This is a sample of the letter mailed to the campaign staff of Presidential candidates. It contains a cover letter, campaign staff questions, and a fact sheet that provides supporting details for each Literacy President question.


Campaign Initiative 2008 Training Guide:
Adult Learner and Practitioner Training Packet

This training is designed to assist learners, practitioners, and other stakeholders in raising adult education and literacy issues at caucuses and other public events in early primary states.

Participants will:
  • Rephrase Literacy President questions in their own words and ask them at public campaign events
  • Increase comfort in raising their own questions at public campaign events
  • Identify strategies for responding to the media
  • Identify public campaigning events and ways to participate in the campaign process
  • Understand mechanisms for documenting and reporting back campaign-trail commitments and comments

  • Evaluate, prioritize, and refine the Literacy President questions

  • Identify ways to become involved
